Bloomington Blaze Announces Partnership with Mid-Illini Credit Union

For the upcoming 2011-12 hockey season, it will be "The Bloomington Blaze presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union" as the Central Hockey League team proudly announces its new presenting sponsorship with MICU.

"We're excited to be the presenting sponsor for the very first season of Bloomington Blaze hockey," said Tom Stewart, the President of Mid-Illini Credit Union. "Professional hockey has a loyal and passionate fan base here in Bloomington, and at Mid-Illini Credit Union (MICU), we want to be a part of that. We like to think our members are as loyal and passionate about their relationships with Mid-Illini as the hockey fans are about their team, but let's face it: the financial services business is never going to be as exciting and fast-paced as a hockey game!"

"By partnering with the Blaze, we're reaching out to the community on a whole different level and sending the message that not only can Mid-Illini help you build a strong financial foundation for your family, but together, we can have fun doing it. Banking at MICU is a completely different experience - and like we always say - different is better," Mr. Stewart added.

"We're very pleased that MICU was able to secure a position as presenting sponsor for the all-new Bloomington Blaze. You just can't beat the excitement and energy coming from the crowd at a hockey game," said Julie Workman, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Mid-Illini Credit Union. "this partnership is a great way to reach out to the community at large and increase awareness of the products and services we offer at MICU, and it's also really fun. We've got some great ideas for new and different promotions during the games, and we're going to run some prize-package giveaway contests for MICU members on our Facebook page throughout the season."

"On behalf of the entire Bloomington Blaze organization, I want to thank Mid-Illini Credit Union for their presenting sponsorship for the upcoming 2011-12 hockey season," said Blaze owner Gary DelBuono. "Along with my co-owner Sandy Hunnewell, we are very appreciative of MICU's support and we look forward to a long-term relationship with Tom Stewart, Julie Workman, and everyone associated with Mid-Illini Credit Union."

The Bloomington Blaze presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union will be playing in the fourteen team Central Hockey League beginning in October, 2011. Bloomington will be in the league's Turner (Northern) Conference along with the Fort Wayne Komets, Dayton Gems, Quad City Mallards, Missouri Mavericks, Rapid City Rush and Evansville IceMen.

2011-12 season tickets, group tickets and sponsorships are now available by calling the Blaze at 309-434-2980. Our offices are located inside the US Cellular Coliseum, located at 101 S. Madison Street in downtown Bloomington. For more information, please go to www.bloomingtonblaze.com.
